Project Hidden Cities – WHO Urban Poverty Rapport

Anna Kari shot all the photography, conducted and wrote all the interviews (case studies) for WHO’s global report into urban poverty and health. The rapport called “Hidden Cities” looks at the link between poverty and health in large cities. Today the urban poor are the worst off globally.

The assignment included traveling to capital cities in 6 countries – Philippines, Indonesia, Cameroon, Egypt, Brazil and UK, visiting and interviewing the poorest and photographing their reality.

Anna planned the trips, worked with local WHO staff to identify communities and issues to focus on, found the fixers and translators, interviewed and photographed the people and delivered the finished photos and interviews to WHO.
